I’d like to talk to some of your siding customers - do you have references I can talk to?

Absolutely. We encourage you to call our references and ask them anything about our service and quality. We have installed siding on thousands on homes in the Baltimore and Washington area – we are a proven choice.

Isn’t all siding installation pretty much the same?

No, there are some important differences. For example, many siding companies use inexperienced labor that nails siding to tight to the home which causes bending and even cracking of the siding.

We also use CertainTeed’s exclusive “Stud Finder” System which ensures that the siding is attached to every stud. Other systems can be hit or miss about using every stud. These are just a couple of examples. The bottom line is that experience and attention to detail do matter when installing siding.

Will my siding with a warranty?

Yes, and it will be a Lifetime Warranty. CertainTeed has been around for more than 100 years and has earned a reputation for always standing behind their products. We have a policy to always provide warranties in writing. In fact, we post our warranties online for all to see – you can visit our Warranty page to get more information.

One other thing you should know about warranties: even if you have an outstanding product warranty, there is a “loophole” with many contractors. This is because a defect in the product itself is covered, but anything that happens because of poor installation is NOT covered. Allied Remodeling doesn’t think that is right, so we have closed this loophole. We give you a labor warranty that matches the length of the product warranty. If the product is covered for a lifetime, so is the labor.

Why do you recommend CertainTeed siding?

Besides amazing warranty protection, CertainTeed has some significant advantages. They have stricter quality control standards compared to other leading manufacturers.

When you do a side-by-side comparison with other siding, it also becomes clear that CertainTeed has a richer, higher quality look. And if you choose a wood grain pattern, it is much more natural looking.

CertainTeed offers their panels in several sizes: 12’, 16’, and 24’. Most siding companies offer just 12’ panels. The different CertainTeed sizes allow us to cut down on seams by as much as 40%.

I heard you use satellite technology as part of your process. Can you explain how that works?

Yes. During your initial consultation, we will measure your roof using one of our experienced estimators. Should you move forward with Allied Remodeling, we use satellite technology to confirm the measurements with the best possible accuracy. This program is then used to order and fully track the exact right amount of materials using the satellite measurements.

The result is a more time-efficient process, with less material waste and more cost savings.

Will new siding make my home more energy efficient?

Installing new siding is a great opportunity to make your home more energy efficient, but it is important to make the right choices. Typically siding companies install Tyvek as a vapor barrier and to cut down on drafts. Tyvek is not a bad choice, but we offer a better one.

We install a radiant barrier as the first layer under your siding. It reflects radiant heat which will significantly cut down on the heat transfer and lessen the burden on your air conditioner during hot days. It is a superior choice to Tyvek.
